I’m learning to speak Spanish from a man with a considerable lisp. He teaches me via a podcast, and he is so kind as to always wish me luck with each lesson. “Buena thwerte!”, he says to me, and off we go on a vocabulary adventure. In only a few brief sessions, I have already learned many handy phrases for travelers, such as how to greet people, how to get seated and served at a restaurant, and how to apologize two different ways. I think I am doing a pretty good job deciphering the words, but in case I am not, I’m planning to spend a good chunk of time in Barthelona!
